Saints rank middle of pack in preseaon Great Northwest poll
The Saint Martin’s men’s basketball team was picked to finish 6th in the GNAC preseason coaches poll. The ten head coaches’ votes were tallied on the 11-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 point system. Western Washington was a near unanimous first place selection, receiving 9 of 10 first place votes. Last season, the Saints handed Western one of their four losses January 18, 2001 in the Pavilion 90-82.

Geoducks add eight transfers and three freshman to the 2001-02 squad
It is an understatement to say there will be a completely different women's basketball team on the floor for The Evergreen State College this winter. First-year head coach Monica Heuer has completed this year's recruiting process, and eight college transfers, along with three true freshmen, will be in the mix for the Geoducks.

Owls beat Evergreen 3-0
Evergreen lost the first game of their final two game road trip of the year. The trip to southern Oregon is one of the longest and hardest to take in the Cascade Conference for the Geoducks, at least a seven hour drive from Olympia, and the trip didn't get any better once they arrived.
