GNAC Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week 2003
Zach Dwello, Northwest Nazarene (Jr., McCall, ID) and Andy Prentice, Saint Martin's (So., Spokane, WA) - Both Dwello and Prentice posted GNAC season-best marks and bettered the provisional national qualifying mark in their respective events at the Ken Foreman Invitational. Dwello cut 14 ½ seconds off his previous best in finishing third (first among collegiate runners) in the steeplechase in a time of 9:13.53. Prentice finished fourth in the 800 (behind one Club Northwest runner and two from UW) in a time of 1:52.52.

UW Signs Five Prep Women's Soccer Standouts
Another local signee is defender Shaela Ward, a product of Olympia's North Thurston High School. She was a teammate of Rasmussen's on the F.C. Royals, a club team out of Puyallup. With Ward anchoring the defense, North Thurston made a pair of Class AAA state tournament appearances in 2000 and 2001.
